Our Atmosphere

Here we get our insight into our atmosphere......

-Modern cattle need quite a lot of copper as they were evolved in part of Europe where copper was abundant, while sheep grown in cu poor areas,
-Look how contrasting the nature is oxygen and hydrogen both is combustion friendly but when combined forms water which is incombustible. Hydrogen burns itself while oxygen helps in burning.
-Chlorine is common poisonous gas while sodium is unstable element which when dropped in water would explode but when combined forms table salt.
-Lead is poisonous to us because we are never friendly to it over the course of evolution, that shows when elements doesn't naturally occur on earth we evolve absolutely no tolerance for them.
-Other worlds may harbor silvery lakes of mercury and drifting clouds of ammonia. Universe is unexpected.
-4.5 meters thickness of protective concrete layer and without it visitors from space would have sliced us.
-Atmosphere extends up to 190 km of troposphere, Stratosphere, mesosphere, and ionosphere.
-Temperature up at 10 km would be -57 degree Celsius While on strato it’s 4 degree thanks to the ozone layer. Mesosphere with -90 and Thermosphere with 1500 degree Celsius temperature.
-At thermosphere the air molecules are very scarce but are very much hotter. Hence there are much less air collision so the satellites don’t burst into flames.
-Altogether there are about 5,200 million million tons of air.

-It is estimated that one thunderstorm is equal with the four days of electricity for whole US.
- All internal turmoil particles within the clouds pick up electrical charges. Lighter particles tend to be positively charged and to be wafted by air currents to top of cloud, heavier particles at base and accumulates negative charge. Negatively charged particles have rush to positively charged earth.
-A bolt of lightning travels 435,000 km/hr. and can heat 28,000 degrees. At any one moment 1800 lightening are in progress.
-Warm air holds more moisture hence tropical and summer rains are heavy.
-When you watch a burning cigarette smoke first goes straight up in laminar flow and then spread in wavy layer.
-Difference in distribution of sunlight creates pressure difference around the globe hence air rushes everywhere trying to equalize things everywhere.

-Edmond Halley was the one who first studied about air equilibrium.
-Earth revolves at the speed of 1675 km/hr.
-Howard was the one that classified different clouds.
Stratus - layered cloud with sharp edges
Cumulus - Fluffy ones
Cirrus - High thin feathery
Nimbus - rain formation cloud
-Cumulus clouds with well defined edges, because there is pronounced boundary between interior of cumulus clouds and dry air. Any water molecule that strays beyond edge of cloud is immediately zapped by dry air.
-Much higher cirrus clouds with ice. Zone between edge of cloud and air beyond not clearly delineated.
-Altogether 60% of water molecules in rainfall are returned to atmosphere within day or two within 12 days falls again.
- Foraminiferas, coccoliths and calcareous algae, as you know in the number of millions uses co2 when it rains and use to make tiny shells.
- Altogether there is about 80,000 times as much carbon locked away in earths rock as in atmosphere.
